The Testimony of the Live Oak Ranch Rodeo

That’s when we realized the Live Oak Ranch Rodeo wasn’t just an event — it was the starting point of a movement. From this rodeo, the South Texas Youth Ranch Rodeo Association (STYRRA) was born. What began as a single rodeo quickly became the foundation for something greater: an association committed to youth, family, and faith in our ranching communities.

The rodeo itself is more than competition. Every time a cowboy nods his head or a team turns cattle, kids are watching. They’re learning how to work with their hands, how to respect livestock, and how to carry themselves with grit, humility, and honor. They’re also seeing adults live out their values in real time — and that’s a testimony that no buckle or prize money could ever replace.

We call it a rodeo with a purpose, because that’s exactly what it is. Every entry fee, every sponsor banner, every cheer from the stands fuels the mission of STYRRA. It’s about building a legacy that outlives us, one rooted in faith, family, and tradition.
